Assembly Newsletter Sunday June 22nd

The Assembly met on Wednesday June 11th in a hybrid meeting at Soha's.

The meeting opened with a land acknowledgement, the Arabic Hidden Word #3, and recognition of the tribal value: "Speak with care"

The Most recent feast letter which was a response from the House of Justice to the NSA's convention letter, was read aloud.

The Secretary reports that the new computers for the secretary and Treasurer had arrived. The existing machines where too old to support the new Windows 11, and Microsoft will be ending support for Windows 10 before the end of the year. The two laptops were purchased as refurbished machines, but have sufficiently modern hardware to last as long as Windows 11 is scheduled to be in service. Presumably until 2030 or so.

The treasure's report included consultation on how our funds should be used to support the greater community, in light of the evolving guidance from the House of Justice. No specific action was decided on, but the consultation helped the Assemble better understand our role as described by the House of Justice.

The Children's Nucleus reported that the Friday night family night with pizza and a movie was not attended by any parents. The Nucleus has decided that with summer attendance waning they would take a break on the weekly classes and try to organize some field trips during the summer.

Family Promise week has been a success, the family in care is personable, with some rambunctious children. The mom who is taking care of her two children and two others was most appreciative of the assistance she is getting. She was able to go camping on a couple of the beautiful mid-summer nights, which relieved us and FB staff of a couple overnights. FB was delighted that between the camping and the Bahá’ís they did not need to hire staff for an overnight this week.

The Assembly continued to discuss the need to replace the windows in the rental unit. There are funds in the rental account from the previous renter, Jan and Soha continue to investigate weatherization programs that might help.

The next scheduled Assembly meeting is Wednesday June 25
