Last weekend, Aug 30 - Sept 1, the tent sale fund raiser brough in ove 1,100.00 dollars. the sale continues for one last day on Saturday Sept 6 (we should get a final fund raising number at feast)
The Assembly met on Sept. First with 8 members in attendance. Due to the schedule of the tent sale, and the commitments of Assembly members the meeting was held by Zoom.
The tribal value recognized in our agenda, was "humor". A value we all must hold dear, even in the most trying of times.
The Secretary reported that Family Promise week was a success. We managed to fill all the meal slots as well as the requested overnights and the weekly laundry. Thank you to everyone who chipped in to make this community service possible.
During the Treasurer's report a request came form the Auxiliary Board for travel assistance to a meeting of Board member assistants in Washington state. Through the process of consultation it was resolved that some of our budgeted travel expenses should be offered to the local Auxiliary Board Assistants that might require travel assistance.
The Children's Nucleus reports that they are doing home visits with families engaged in children's class at Greuning Park.
The Faith in the Future committee reports that they have established a regular meeting time for planning. There is a tentative date set for weekend of Nov 22nd. A firm commitment from a venue is needed before we can send out "save the date" notices and invite participants.
The application for the Energy Assistance for new windows in the rental unit has begun, a vendor to do the installation needs to be confirmed.
The Assembly hopes to hold public "Meaningful Conversations" in the near future. We are looking for subjects and speakers. A date and venue has not been set.
Individual initiative is the creative force that builds our community and brings the vision of Baháʼu'lláh into the world we live in. We invite the friends to share stories, events, or reflections for future newsletters.
Much love to all
